The Conducell 4UPtF Arc 4-pole conductivity sensor with a VP8 connector and PG13,5 process connection features integrated Arc technology for onboard calibration storage, predictive diagnostics, and automated documentation. Can Hamilton conductivity sensors be used with my existing transmitter?

In most cases, yes! Transmitters specifically designed for either 2-pole, 4-pole conductivity are generally compatible with Hamilton Conducell products. The transmitter temperature sensor input (PT1000) should be checked to ensure it matches the sensor.

Does the cell constant of my conductivity sensor change over time?

The cell constant of a conductivity sensor may change over time due to corrosion of the electrodes from an aggressive media, or due to fouling of the electrodes. Calibration adjusts the cell constant and can help offset these effects to a certain extent.

How much torque is needed to install a sensor with PG13.5 threads?

Sensors with PG13.5 threads rely on the o-ring to seal against process pressure. Finger-tight (approximately 2 Newton Meter or 18 inch-lb) should be sufficient to install the sensor without leakage. Additional tightening beyond this can deform the o-ring or strip the threads.
