Single-Use Viable Cell Density (VCD) Measurement

The Hamilton’s Incyte SU sensor elements are pre-installed as integral part of the single-use container with a long shelf life. They offer accurate, and stable measurements and come ready-to-use and pre-calibrated. They connect to the Arc Module Incyte SU for a reliable measurement in single-use applications. Our SU VCD use sensors combine the reliability and measurement stability of our long-term proven conventional sensors with the ease of use as an integral part of the bioreactor. Collect real-time viable cell density measurements for deeper process insights and data driven process optimization.

Incyte P SU - conductivity probe

Designed to meet your single-use requirements.

The Hamilton Incyte SU family of Viable Cell Density (VCD) sensors elements represent a leading solution for single-use applications within the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Industries. These sensors represent a significant advancement in single-use measurement, addressing common issues associated with traditional reusable VCD sensors inserted into bags or benchtop bioreactors. Combining the proven reliability and measurement stability of Hamilton's conventional sensors with the convenience of seamless integration into single-use bioreactors, Incyte SU sensor elements offer high accuracy even after gamma irradiation and boast a sufficient shelf life.

The Incyte SU family is ideal for a single-use bioreactor bag. The difference between the Incyte-P SU and the Incyte-PO SU is their compatibility with bioreactor bag films available on the market.  The Incyte SU in combination with the Arc Module Incyte SU, provides an industry-standard digital Modbus RTU signal. Analog signal (4 to 20 mA) is also available in combination with an Arc Wi 2G adapter BT.

The Incyte SU sensor is designed to measure viable cells in mammalian cell culture, yeast, and high-density bacterial fermentation. The measurement principle of Incyte sensors is based on permittivity. Viable cells behave like capacitors, and their polarization and depolarization in an alternating electrical field are measured. This signal can be correlated to the viable cell density and is insensitive to cell debris and microcarriers.
