ChemoTrode is Hamilton's most robust pH sensor, specifically designed for demanding applications in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. Building on Hamilton's proven pH sensor technology, ChemoTrode provides reliable and precise pH measurement in challenging process environments where robustness, measurement stability, and long sensor lifetime are critical.

The ChemoTrode utilizes a refillable liquid electrolyte in combination with Hamilton's Everef-F reference cartridge. This design prevents contamination of the reference electrolyte by silver ions and protein precipitation, helping to maintain measurement stability and extend sensor service life under demanding process conditions.

The liquid electrolyte can be easily refilled and pressurized up to 6 bar through an integrated service port, simplifying maintenance while ensuring reliable sensor performance throughout its lifetime. The refillable electrolyte system additionally provides fast response times and high measurement precision across a wide range of process applications.

What is the expected lifetime of my pH sensor?

Expected pH sensor lifetime is dependent on the application. Exposure to strong chemicals, elevated temperature, fluctuating pressure, and solid build-up can all impact the sensor life. As the sensor ages, a sluggish response may become more apparent, and will require more frequent calibrations to compensate for this change. The overall health of the Arc pH sensors can be seen using the quality indicator in ArcAir software.

How are the housings for refillable pressurized pH / ORP sensors such as the ChemoTrode actually pressurized?

The ChemoTrode requires a pressurized housing such as the MasterFit or RetractoMaster for proper installation. These housings use a Dunlap valve (bicycle tube valve) which permits pressurizing the chamber with the sensor up to 6 Bar. A simple bicycle pump with a Presta or Dunlap pump head can be used for this purpose.

What is a refillable sensor and why would I choose it?

Refillable sensors have a port that allows manual replenishment of the reference electrolyte. Processes like pure water leach out out the electrolyte so the Ionotrode is a good choice. Other products like the ChemoTrode allow the for externally pressurized electrolyte so the process liquid cannot easily contaminate the sensor.
