VisiTrace Dissolved Oxygen Sensors
Hamilton's VisiTrace optical dissolved oxygen sensors are designed for trace-level dissolved oxygen monitoring down to low parts per billion (ppb) levels. Multiple DO probe lengths, electrical connectors, and sensor outputs are available.
Precise low-level dissolved oxygen measurement.
VisiTrace optical dissolved oxygen sensors are engineered for precise dissolved oxygen monitoring in low ppb ranges that are crucial for brewing and power plant applications. They provide fast response, flow independence, rapid startup with no polarization time, and simple maintenance. It comes with the ODO Cap L1 as standard. ArcAir software effortlessly manages VisiTrace sensors to streamline your workflows. Use VisiTrace mA in hazardous environments and VisiTrace RS485 in general industrial areas.

How does optical dissolved oxygen work?
The sensing element for an optical DO sensor is an oxygen sensitive luminophore. A blue light from the sensor excites the luminophore. When the excited molecule returns to its ground state it gives off red light. In the presence of oxygen some of the energy is transferred to the oxygen molecule. The oxygen measurement is made by comparing the excitation light (blue) to the emitted light (red).
Why choose optical DO sensors like VisiTrace?
Optical dissolved oxygen sensors offer significant advantages over traditional electrochemical (amperometric) sensors. These include flow independence, rapid start-up with no polarization time, and simplified maintenance as they do not require electrolyte or internal cathode/anode replacement. Additionally, optical sensors like VisiTrace are insensitive to CO2 fouling, which can affect the accuracy of amperometric sensors. VisiTrace sensors provide stable and reliable measurements in critical low ppb range.
