Dencytee Arc

Measure. Monitor. Automate.
The in-line optical density sensor uses a combination of transmission and reflection measurements to provide a new level of reliability in both low and high concentration applications. A guided correlation model creates a linear relationship between off-line and in-line measurements, ensuring accuracy throughout the entire process. This opens the door to increased process efficiency and future automation. Familiar control strategies can be implemented, or a new path can be forged towards increased productivity.

How does Dencytee Arc work?
At the proven 860nm wavelength, the Dencytee Arc combines the signal from transmission and reflection into a reliable and reproducible measurement. This measurement technique reliably determines the total cell density over a wide concentration range.

"In our QbD-centered PAT ecosystem, which requires frequent adaptation to different bioprocess modes and R&D setups, we especially value the versatility and ease of integration of the Dencytee Arc system".

What is special about the Dencytee Arc?
The Dencytee Arc uses two different optical methods: a transmitted light measurement and a reflection measurement. It is effectively a "transflectance" probe. -
Which wavelength is used for TCD measurement?
The Dencytee Arc measures in the near-infrared range (NIR) at 860 nm. At this wavelength, the measurement is unaffected by daylight and changes in the color of the medium. Even strong illumination, such as is required for phototropic organisms, does not influence the measurements. -
Can the OD860 be converted to an OD with a different wavelength?
Although the output of the measured values as OD860 value will not lead to a different growth curve than with OD600, it is often easier to deal with the known quantities and units for reasons of comparability. An OD860 value can be converted to any other measurement or unit, so also to an OD600. The conversion from one unit to another can be made with the correlation.
