OxyFerm FDA Arc Details

The OxyFerm FDA Arc is an electrochemical oxygen sensor designed for processes with high demands for hygiene, including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and food & beverage production. It is available with either a 12 mm or 25 mm (XL) shaft diameter, offering increased versatility through optional accessories. 

Equipped with a special rounded FDA-approved membrane to prevent gas bubble accumulation, the sensor boasts a robust construction compatible with steam sterilization, autoclaving, and CIP cleanings. This wide measuring range sensor provides reliable dissolved oxygen monitoring in challenging environments.

Do bubbles impact my DO measurement?

DO sensors should be installed away from spargers to minimize the impact of bubbles potentially causing an erratic signal. For ODO sensors, an H2 cap with a convex tip design can be used to mitigate bubble aggregation on the ODO cap.

The frequency of membrane and electrolyte replacement is process specific and will vary. Routine calibration before each run can identify a high nA current at the nitrogen zero point or low nA current in air, indicating a need to replace the membrane and electrolyte.
