ODO Cap L1 Details

Hamilton offers a variety of reusable Optical Dissolved Oxygen (ODO) Sensor Caps to meet the demands of different applications. The standard H0/H3 caps are ideal for most applications, providing the fastest response time and compatibility with common media. For chemically intensive environments, the H2/H4 caps feature a hygienic design and a PTFE membrane for increased resistance and minimized bubble accumulation. The ODO Cap L1 is optimized for trace-level measurements, while the H20 is the standard choice for water applications. All our reusable ODO caps are designed for simple maintenance with single replacement parts. Replacement ODO Cap for VisiTrace mA and VisiTrace RS485.

What is the expected lifetime and when should I replace my ODO cap?

ODO cap health is process specific, with a cap quality indicator in ArcAir representing the general health of the ODO cap. ODO cap quality replacement is advised at 35%, however, some customers may replace ODO caps as part of a preventative maintenance program before reaching 35%. Click to learn more.

Will the VisiFerm RS485 hold up in a head-to-head comparison against the VisiFerm ECS or other DO sensors?

The VisiFerm RS485 with ODO caps H3/H4 will provide a longer lifespan with less calibrations when compared to the VisiFerm ECS with ODO caps H0/H2 , any electrochemical DO sensor, and any other Hamilton optical DO sensor with ODO caps H0/H2. VisiFerm RS485 provides a direct replacement for the VisiFerm ECS.

FAQ

Do bubbles impact my DO measurement?

DO sensors should be installed away from spargers to minimize the impact of bubbles potentially causing an erratic signal. For ODO sensors, an H2 cap with a convex tip design can be used to mitigate bubble aggregation on the ODO cap.
