Hamilton offers multiple Optical Dissolved Oxygen (ODO) sensor caps depending on the application.

Standard and specialized optical dissolved oxygen sensor caps

ODO Caps H3 / H0

Hollow cylindrical metal spacer or bushing lying on its side, showing open bore on right end

ODO Cap H3 (Ref 10068400) - Replacement cap for VisiFerm mA and VisiFerm RS485 products.

ODO Cap H0 (Ref 243515) – Replacement cap for VisiFerm RS485, VisiFerm DO Arc, VisiFerm ECS and VisiWater (Ref 243650) products.

Both H3 and H0 caps provide the fastest response time and are compatible with most fermentation and cell culture media. These caps are steam sterilizable, autoclavable, and CIP compatible.

The H0 cap directly replaces our older P0 cap (Ref 242427).

Cross sensitivities and resistance for the ODO Caps H3 / H0

Measurements not influenced by:Carbon Dioxide
Wetted parts resistant to:Ethanol
Wetted parts not resistant to:Chlorine, Ozone, and organic solvents such as Acetone and Tetrahydrofuran (THF)

ODO Caps H4 / H2

Polished stainless steel hollow cylindrical pin lying on its side

ODO Cap H4 (Ref 10078261) - Replacement cap for VisiFerm mA and VisiFerm RS485 products.

ODO Cap H2 (Ref 243505) – Replacement cap for VisiFerm RS485, VisiFerm DO Arc and VisiFerm ECS.

The ODO Caps H4 and H2 are specifically designed for increased chemical resistance. These caps are recommended for processes containing lipophilic compounds, oil-like substances, and aggressive chemicals that may attack silicone coatings. The convex tip also helps to prevent bubble formation in aerated processes. Both products are steam sterilizable, autoclavable, and CIP compatible.

Cross sensitivities and resistance for the ODO Caps H2 / H4

Measurements not influenced by:Carbon Dioxide, lipophilic compounds
Wetted parts resistant to:Organic solvents such as Ethanol, Acetone, Tetrahydrofuran (THF), Heptan, Dimethylformamide
Wetted parts not resistant to:Chlorine and Ozone gases

ODO Caps L1 / L0

Hollow cylindrical metal spacer or sleeve lying on its side, showing open bore at one end

ODO Cap L1 (Ref 10107102) - Replacement cap for the VisiTrace mA and VisiTrace RS485

ODO Cap L0 (Ref 243530) - Replacement cap for the VisiTrace DO Ex

The ODO Caps L1 / L0 are optimized for trace measurements from 1 to 2000 PPB (µg/mL) for applications found in breweries, power plants, deaeration processes. The caps are stable against active chlorine and chlorine dioxide. These caps are only for use with trace measurements.

Cross sensitivities and resistance for the ODO Cap L1 / L0

Wetted parts resistant to:Standard cleaning solutions (CIP, NaOH)
Wetted parts chemically stabilized against:Standard disinfection solutions (Chlorine Dioxide, active chlorine)
Wetted parts not resistant to:Organic solvents such as Acetone and Tetrahydrofluran (THF)

ODO Cap S3/S0/S2 for Single-Use dissolved oxygen measurement

ODO S3 Single Use cap

ODO Cap S3 (Ref 10113953) - Replacement cap for the VisiFerm SU. Integrated within a 1” barbed SU bag port. No wetted EPDM o-ring. Designed for hose clamp fixation, no fixation ring.

Optical DO Single Use Cap S0 Kit

ODO Cap S0 (Ref 243461) - Single-Use cap for the VisiFerm SU. Integrated within a 1” barbed SU bag port. Comes with fixation ring for fixation on the barbed port.

Optical DO Cap S2 Kit Single Use Cap

ODO Cap S2 (Ref 10077858) - Replacement cap for the VisiFerm SU. Integrated through an inner M14x1-left-handed thread for SU bioreactors.

All ODO Cap S-Types provide fast response times and are compatible with most single use bioreactor applications. These caps can be installed into single use bioreactors or bags and gamma irradiated prior to shipment to the end user. The VisiFerm SU Arc sensor is then threaded into the cap on-site.

Cross sensitivities and resistance for the ODO Caps S3 / S0 / S2

Measurements not influenced by:Carbon Dioxide
Wetted parts resistant to:<70% Ethanol
Wetted parts not resistant to:Chlorine, Ozone and Organic Solvents such as Acetone, Tetrahydrofuran (THF)
