Firmware Updates for Arc Products
Hamilton Arc and VisiFerm ECS sensors rely upon internal firmware for their operation. Periodic firmware updates ensure that the sensor has the latest features and fixes any pre-existing bugs that may exist.
Hamilton Arc sensors and hardware are continuously evolving. These products rely upon internal electronics controlled by embedded firmware. The sensor firmware may be periodically updated to include new features or fix potential bugs. ArcAir software is the primary tool that enables users to update to new firmware on sensors.
The table below provides links to the latest firmware for download. If your sensor or hardware is currently at the latest firmware level then there is no need for a firmware update. The short video below provides an example of how firmware updates are done.
NOTE - The Arc Modbus OPC Converter has two options for firmware updates. The SD-Card firmware link relies upon a micro SD card for firmware installation. The Web Interface firmware link uses an Ethernet connection to the service interface port of the converter from a separate PC. Details on each installation method are provided in Chapter 9 of the OPC Converter Operating Instructions.

ArcAir Software - Firmware Update Example
How do I connect to hardware?
Connecting hardware to the computer is done through the Arc USB Power Cable. An example is shown below. There are two versions of the Arc USB Power cable

| Cable Ref | Description | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 243490-01 | Arc USB Power Cable VP8 | For all Arc sensors with VP connectors, VisiFerm ECS, and Wi 1G Adapters (243460) |
| 243490-02 | Arc USB Power Cable M12 | For Wi 2G Wireless Adapter (243470) with M12 8-pole connector |
Additional connection considerations: VisiFerm mA, VisiTrace mA, VisiPro, and VisiTrace products do not require a wired connection to the computer. These products can be updated using ArcAir software and Bluetooth wireless communication.
Updates to the Arc Wireless USB Bluetooth Converter are accomplished through the USB port on the computer (no cable is needed).
