PRP-Z2 was specifically engineered to maximize polar retention through a combination of deeper pores, higher surface area, and embedded polar moieties. These features improve retention and selectivity for highly polar and cationic analytes. PRP-Z2 particles have a (160 Å) pore size that is suitable for the separation of some large molecules such as small proteins, peptides, oligonucleotides, as well some small polar compounds.

The PRP Z2 represents a sophisticated evolution of the renowned PRP resin family. Engineered with a highly cross-linked PS-DVB backbone, it offers exceptional structural rigidity and maintains peak performance across the entire pH spectrum—from strongly acidic to highly alkaline mobile phases. This robust stability ensures reliable isolation for a vast array of analytes using any standard chromatographic eluent.
By integrating both aromatic rings and aliphatic cross-linking into the particle architecture, the PRP Z2 achieves superior analyte retention compared to traditional commercial polymeric resins. This increased cross-link density not only enhances lipophilic retention but also creates a more rigid spherical structure that minimizes swelling and accelerates eluent response times.
