Hamilton's 600 series Microliter # 65  Removable Needle (RN) Syringes are a rugged, durable, and long-lasting half-stroke version of Hamilton’s original 700 series syringes. They have a reinforced plunger which prevents plunger bending. Each plunger is individually fitted to the glass barrel and cannot be interchanged between syringes. This syringe series is ideal for dispensing volumes from 0.25 µL up to 5 µL. In addition, because of the shorter stroke length, the 600 series syringes can be used for one-handed applications.

    We commonly use microliter syringes for the preparation of reactions as they allow for the precise addition of reagents, and in addition, are inert to many of the redox reagents we use in our chemistry. We can also accurately transfer reactive species for chemical analysis without significant sample degradation. As we move into a new phase of our research, Hamilton syringes will allow for the accurate analysis of reaction products. This will include the GC analysis of N2, H2, and small molecule activation products from C-N bond forming chemistry.

How can I sterilize my syringe?

Chemical sterilization is the preferred method for all Hamilton products. Autoclaving syringes should only be used as a last resort and only where specifically stated. Syringe sterilization is not straightforward. Not all syringes can be autoclaved.
