Hamilton's 1700 series, Gastight #1702 Small RN Neuros Syringes offer syringe technology that provides unprecedented functionality for controlled animal injections. Developed specifically for neuroscience applications, this animal injection syringe enables the delivery of microvolumes to an exact location while minimizing injection site damage. Neuros syringes come with two types of protective needle sleeves. The sleeve with a blind stop is perfect for cannulated applications and ensures targeted administration with an adjustable penetration depth. The version without a blind stop works best with stereotaxic holders. Both models provide an adjustable needle exposure of 0 to 20 mm.

  • Enabling Controlled Penetration Depth with Neuros Syringes

    Hamilton Neuros syringes will allow them to inject onto the surface of the meninges (dura) of mice, using the cranial suture junction as an entry point. At 8 weeks of age, the suture junctions are not fused therefore, with a controlled penetration depth and no dead space of volume, it will allow for the precision needed to preserve the integrity of the tissue.

The syringe and needle accessories described in this document were developed for low dead volume applications that require easily primed connections for Microliter™ and Gastight® syringes. The connectors and ferrules described below are designed for use with the small Removable Needle (RN) and Knurled Hub (KH) terminations found on the 600, 700, 800, 900, 1700, 1800 and 7000 series syringes with a nominal volume of 0.5–100 µL.
