The company expands transnationally and builds an additional production facility in Grisons

(Bonaduz, 10/19/2016) – Hamilton Bonaduz AG is an industry leader in designing and manufacturing liquid handling, process analytics, robotics and automated storage solutions. Due to a constantly increasing demand the company reached its capacity limits at its location in Bonaduz, Switzerland. In order to ensure the well-known quality continuously, the construction work for a new facility started on September 23rd on the premises of a former sawmill in the neighboring city of Domat/Ems. The Hamilton Ems AG as well as Hamilton Storage will find a new home in this 10000 m2 big area – with the option to expand for further 8000 m2 at a later stage if needed. Hamilton Ems AG is a newly founded subsidiary of Hamilton Bonaduz AG with the main focus on the development and production of high-tech plastic components for the entire Hamilton group. Hamilton Storage develops comprehensive and automated low temperature sample management systems, which are of high importance for many life-science processes. The deep-freezing storage system can assume large proportions and will be constructed and function tested in the new facility before distribution. “In Bonaduz there’s not enough space for this important work item. Additionally, thanks to the new facility, we will be able to create 100 more jobs. Another advantage is that we are very close to the motorway and train station”, explains Dr. Knut Georgy, Senior Market Segment Manager process Analytics at Hamilton Bonaduz AG and adds that the production is set to begin in fall 2017.

Besides other subsidiaries in Europe, Hamilton Bonaduz AG is now as well represented in Spain as of September 1st. Based in Badalona, Barcelona, Hamilton Iberia SLU operates as a sales office for the business unit Process Analytics. The portfolio covers parameters such as pH, ORP, conductivity, dissolved oxygen (DO) as well as total and viable cell density. “Spain has a very strong pharma and biotech industry. So we expect a continuous and strong growth in this core segment of Process Analytics”, states Dr. Georgy. “We are looking forward to further expand this sector onsite and in this way, to accommodate our customers wishes and requirements precisely and fast.”
