Simplify and Standardize Nucleic Acid Extraction

Gain flexibility, scalability, and consistency from DNA and RNA extraction workflows with this walkaway system and verified chemistries from leading providers.

High-Throughput Nucleic Acid Extraction

The MagEx STAR Line automates nucleic acid extraction from diverse sample types using pre-qualified methods from leading kit manufacturers. Two models are available. The MagEx STARlet processes one microplate, or up to 96 samples, at once, while the MagEx STAR has capacity for up to four 96-well plates. Each is equipped with eight independent CO-RE II pipette channels and a CO-RE II 96 Probe Head to provide maximum efficiency and throughput in DNA and RNA based workflows.

Flexible Nucleic Acid Extraction Kit Compatibility

The MagEx STAR Line is optimized against a wide range of magnetic bead-based extraction kits. This means that you can adapt your preferred DNA and RNA extraction protocols without modifying the hardware. This also streamlines implementation, so you can be confident in results.

Ensuring Highly Reproducible Nucleic Acid Extractions

Highly precise and reliable liquid handling is supported by a combination of our market-leading Compressed O-Ring Expansion (CO-RE) II Technology along with the Hamilton Pipetting Excellence Program.

Common applications Genomics, Nucleic Acid Extraction, Pharma & Biopharma, Gene and Cell Therapy, Microbial Strain and Fermentation Development

With hands-free, high-throughput nucleic acid extraction and purification, users can focus on higher-value laboratory activities.

Reliable performance using pre-qualified, ready-to-run methods and end-to-end traceability improves consistency across samples, users, and time.

The design allows easy scaling to keep pace with changing throughput demands. It also adapts to meet evolving kit and laboratory changes over time.

1

Consumables and Reagent Storage

Accommodates multiple tip and plate formats. Large reservoirs allow direct pipetting by the CO-RE 96 Probe Head for highly parallel reagent access.
2

Processing Positions

Supports magnetic bead clean-up, heating, mixing with up to four Hamilton Heater Shakers (HHS), and magnets on MagEx STAR (STARlet supports one of each).
3

Gravity Waste System

Simplifies maintenance and reduces downtime without using pumps.
4

CO-RE Gripper Tool

Transports plates smoothly around the deck to support seamless multi-step workflows.
5

Automated Loading and Scanning

Supports accurate consumable use and end-to-end sample tracking.
