Hamilton’s Newest Automated Handler Pushes the Boundaries of Scientific Innovation

February 27, 2023 – Hamilton is excited to introduce the Microlab® STAR V™, the company’s latest addition to its lineup of automated liquid handling platforms. STAR V offers the benefits of two popular Hamilton systems: the high-throughput capability of VANTAGE and the flexibility of STAR. Combined, Microlab STAR V provides users with a fast and powerful experience in one benchtop device.

Highlights of STAR V include a larger workspace and a linear compound arm, increasing capacity and speed by 30%. Users can run complex, multi-step applications with STAR V’s ability to be fully integrated from the back and side panels. High-visibility LED interior lighting and a progress-status light bar allow operators to easily view and track progress. STAR V is powered by Hamilton’s updated VENUS software, featuring a user-friendly interface, built-in power steps for common applications, and the ability to track run progress away from the workstation via a web browser.

“Hamilton is committed to supplying laboratories with the tools and resources needed to advance their critical work,” said company Vice CEO, Matt Hamilton. “That effort continues with the Microlab STAR V. The combination of speed, power, and flexibility is unmatched by any other liquid handler on the market. STAR V is a terrific addition to Hamilton’s automated lineup and will enable innovation in laboratories around the world.”

Microlab STAR V was unveiled during the 2023 Society for Laboratory Automation & Screening (SLAS) International Conference & Exhibition in San Diego, California. Hamilton is currently taking orders for STAR V, with shipments expected to begin in May 2023.
