Innovative new products for process analytics

(Bonaduz, May 5, 2015) – Visitors of this year’s ACHEMA trade fair can witness many highlights of Hamilton Bonaduz AG in hall 11.1 at booth F43. The company shows its market leading sensor technology for optical dissolved oxygen measurement. Additionally, a new pH sensor family for harsh environments, a new conductivity sensor for ultra-pure water and a new product line for precise online measurements of viable and total cell density will be introduced.

The Polilyte Plus sensor family breaks ground for reliable pH measurement in harsh environmental conditions. The experts provide suitable sensors for almost every industrial application. All members of the Polilyte Plus family use the long-term stable reference electrolyte Polisolve Plus that improves the sensors’ durability and ensures reproducible measurements. Low maintenance and easy cleaning are further advantages of the sensors. These advantages ensure a hassle-free process with minimum downtimes in demanding applications like sugar production.

Another innovation will be introduced to the visitors of the Achema: The Conducell UPW Arc sensors that are designed for conductivity, resp. quality measurement of ultra-pure water (UPW). The 2-pole sensors comprise of an Arc Module with an integrated micro-transmitter and a conductivity cell. Both can be separated from each other to verify the meter. For this purpose the new UPW simulator will be connected to the Arc Module. The value of its built-in traceable high precision resistor can be read at the process control system or the optional Arc View Handheld device. The sensors provide diagnosis, history, calibration data and alarm monitoring of the ultra-pure water according to USP <645>.

On top of the innovations mentioned Hamilton introduces its cell density measurement technology. Incyte and Dencytee sensors complete the Hamilton portfolio for reliable real-time online measurement of viable and total cell density. The substantial difference to the time-consuming off-line methods is the fact that the results don’t depend on the sampling rate so that hidden events can be eliminated and yields can be optimized. Incyte and Dencytee can be monitored and recorded together with pH and DO Arc sensors on a controller in the same graph so that all relevant parameters for bioprocesses can easily be managed.
