How can I determine whether a measurement fault is caused by the sensor, cable, or connector?

Measurement faults can be caused by the sensor, cable, or connector. First, inspect the connector contacts for moisture, contamination, corrosion, or damage and clean or dry them if necessary. Wet or contaminated contacts can cause unstable readings, signal interruptions, or short circuits.

If the problem persists, replace the cable with a known-good compatible cable. If the fault disappears, the original cable or connector is likely the cause. If the fault remains, the sensor should be inspected as the most likely source of the issue.
