Can the validity of the correlation model for Dencytee Arc be displayed through the ArcAir software?
The measured raw values for transmission and reflection do not change to the same extent as the cell density changes: the changes are not linear. The process of correlation "trains" the sensor to calculate a relationship between in-line and off-line values from the corresponding transmission and reflection values and the manually entered off-line values, which is then absolutely linear from lowest to very high concentrations.
This model will serve as a future benchmark for a linear conversion between in-line and off-line values. Note that the correlation model can be neither good nor bad, and thus there can be no Quality Index (QI) associated with the benchmark.
However, the criteria used to calculate the correlation can be evaluated. For example, no correlation model can be calculated if the data is not monotonically increasing, or even if two consecutive values do not differ significantly. Then, it would not be possible to calculate a model and the ArcAir software will give an error message.
