LabElite Barcode Reading Software

The Hamilton LabElite I.D. Software is the operating software for the LabElite I.D. Reader, which automates barcode scanning for 1D/2D-labeled storage tubes held in racks. It gives labs a fast and reliable way to capture sample identity, using advanced optics and decoding technology to scan and identify tubes in seconds.

The software is built around reading profiles, which contain all the information needed to perform a complete reading process. Each profile defines the rack type, the procedure for processing, and the output data, so the device knows exactly how to read a given rack and how to deliver the results. This makes it straightforward to switch between different rack formats and tube manufacturers while keeping results consistent.

The I.D. Software supports a broad range of SBS racks with 24, 48, 96, and 138 tubes, and is compatible with tubes from manufacturers such as Matrix, FluidX, Micronic, Corning, Abgene, Nunc, Greiner, LVL/Eppendorf, and Hamilton. It can read common 1D codes, including Code 39, Code 128, and EAN 13, as well as 2D Datamatrix ECC 200 codes.

For scientists, the software provides the sample traceability that is essential to biobanking, drug discovery, compound handling, and other high-throughput applications. By capturing barcode data at the point of reading, it links each tube to its identity with confidence, reducing the risk of misidentification and supporting reproducible, auditable workflows.
