Application Note - Microlab PuriFY vs. Manual Workflow Using a Twist Bioscience Protocol

Streamlining Exome Pool Clean-Up with the Microlab PuriFY vs. Manual Workflow Using a Twist Bioscience Protocol

Application Note

Library preparation for Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) involves several clean-up steps that are time-consuming, prone to errors, and can introduce variability when performed manually. Additionally, the numerous pipetting steps, each requiring a new pipette tip, generate significant plastic waste.
Labor Berlin, founded as a subsidiary of Charité and Vivantes, is Europe’s largest hospital laboratory. Covering all areas of laboratory medicine, it is deeply integrated into national and international scientific networks, with a strong focus on innovation and automation. The Studies and Collaboration Department supports proof-of-concept studies, co-developments, and performance evaluations.
In this project, the experienced team successfully implemented the Microlab PuriFY to automate the library clean-up step of enriched DNA libraries of the Twist Bioscience Target Enrichment for sequencing on Illumina NGS systems. After an intuitive setup, this application not only improves efficiency but also, the results qualify the Microlab PuriFY to replace the manual workflow.
