Our lab is looking to study something that has not been investigated before. We are a highly motivated group of researchers interested in investigating the downstream effects of retinal damage to know what exactly happens in the brains of those with these diseases. This will lead to a broader knowledge base, and could lead to potential cures, which is what science is all about.

Creating a chemically induced model of glaucoma and macular degeneration to observe the downstream effects on the visual system. These products will enable us to precisely distribute chemicals via intravitreal injections. Due to the small volume of vitreous in animal eyes, we must ensure intraocular pressure is not increased in a way that would adversely effect the animal. We must inject only microliters of a compound in order to preserve the intraocular pressure.
