Students in my group at the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague (UCT Prague) are working on the development of new catalytic processes for depolymerization and valorization of various commodity polymers. For such, we utilize highly reactive catalysts that are in many cases air and moisture sensitive. Gastight Hamilton syringes are essential to maintaining the catalyst integrity and, therefore, ensuring reproducible and trustable results. Other projects involving the development of new and biodegradable polymers and copolymers are also a major research focus in our group, which once again requires high-quality syringes of various volumes. Microliters of catalyst are added to reactions, and gas samples are efficiently withdrawn with the help of Hamilton syringes, enabling us to confidently perform critical experiments every day.
