BIOSPOT® delivers reproducible nanoliter dispensing for microplate workflows, so you can minimize reagent use and achieve consistent, high-quality results for compound screening and assay development.

BIOSPOT Workstation

Reproducible nanoliter dispensing with low working volume

BIOSPOT delivers consistent nanoliter dispensing as low as 7 nL with CVs under 3%, ensuring high reproducibility for IC₅₀ curves, compound toxicity profiling, and drug target screening. Its low working volume minimizes reagent consumption and dead volume, making it ideal for conserving precious or expensive reagents in compound library workflows.

Intelligent protocol design with LifeLAB software

integrated LifeLAB software optimizes dispensing workflows by suggesting the most efficient source plate layout and calibrating volumes for precise delivery. It leverages high-frequency droplet generation to accelerate run times, helping labs scale throughput without compromising accuracy.

Flexible deck design and automation integration

BIOSPOT features a 6-position deck with configurable source and target plates, enabling advanced applications such as sequential dosing and sample recovery. It integrates seamlessly with Hamilton’s Microlab STAR platform, allowing volume flexibility from 7 nL to 5 mL and supporting automated workflows across drug discovery and assay development.

Dispense with precision from 7 to 70 nL for consistently accurate screening results. Reproducibility under 3% CV ensures reliable compound screening results.

BIOSPOT operates with only a few microliters per channel, drastically reducing waste while maintaining high assay performance.

Just set your target layout, and LifeLAB software automatically handles plate setup and drop calibration. It calculates the fastest, most efficient source plate setup and drop calibration.

Use up to 6 microplates as a source or target. Run multiple steps—aspiration, dispensing, retrieval, and nozzle washing, all in one seamless process.

Integrate BIOSPOT with the Hamilton STAR platform to enable workflows from 7 nL to 5 mL in a single automated environment.

  • BIOSPOT with emphasis on PIPEJET® dispenser delivering precise 7–70 nL nanoliter droplets with non-contact technology.
  • BIOSPOT with emphasis on SMARTDROP® system performing real-time droplet volume verification across different liquid classes.
  • BIOSPOT Workstation showing six microtiter plates configured as source and target positions.
  • BIOSPOT and the localization of the ionizer unit positioned above the deck to neutralize static charge and stabilize droplet accuracy during dispensing.
  • Display screen showing the current state of the instrument.

Built for Miniaturized Assays

The BIOSPOT Workstation combines cutting-edge dispensing technology with intuitive automation to support miniaturized workflows in microtiter plates. From dose-response studies to cell-based assays, BIOSPOT® delivers nanoliter accuracy with ultra-low working volumes and minimal reagent waste.

1

Nanoliter drop control

Dispense between 7 to 70 nL per droplet with exceptional accuracy using PIPEJET®, our drop-on-demand non-contact technology.
2

SMARTDROP® calibration

Handles diverse liquid classes and adjusts automatically to maintain consistent volume delivery across runs.
3

6-position plate deck

Hold up to six microplates at once. Each plate can function independently as a source or target to fit your workflow.
4

Built-In Ionizer

Reduces electrostatic interference during dispensing by neutralizing surface charges on microtiter plates—improving droplet stability, accuracy, and pattern consistency in ultra-low volume workflows.
5

Intelligent dispensing Interface

The user interface recommends optimal plate layout and calibrates the best drop increment to maximize speed and precision.
