ORP Buffers Details

ORP probes (oxidation reduction potential) are critical measurement and control parameters for many liquid processes. ORP (redox) liquid buffer solutions can easily be overlooked when it comes to maintaining your ORP sensor's measurement accuracy. Hamilton DuraCal ORP buffers mitigate the risk of calibration errors through innovative formulation and bottle design. 

Hamilton’s ORP (redox) buffers provide accuracy of ±5 mV with a stability of up to 2 years after the date of manufacture. The 500 ml bottle design uses Hamilton's unique calibration compartment, which helps prevent cross-contamination and requires only approximately 15 ml of solution.

Convenient and Economical

Each 500ml bottle has a built-in calibration compartment that uses only 15ml of solution per calibration.

Does freezing a DuraCal buffer cause any damage to it?

Freezing of liquid pH buffer solutions may occur during shipment. This document confirms that there are no negative effects to the buffer solution's composition or accuracy once returned to ambient room temperature.

How does the DuraCal buffer bottle work?

The Calpak bottle is a unique, patented design which includes a small chamber at the top of the bottle that fills with buffer solution when the bottle is squeezed. Click to see a simple pictorial of how to use this bottle.

How do I clean an ORP sensor?

The platinum band around the tip of the ORP sensor can oxidize over time. Light scrubbing with a mild abrasive such as toothpaste will remove the oxidization. Rinse with potable water and store in storage solution prior to usage
