High-Throughput Automation of The PreOmics iST Technology for Proteomics LC-MS Sample Preparation
Proteomics workflows are becoming increasingly important in the clinical diagnostics and biotech industries, particularly in applications such as therapeutic drug monitoring and biomarker detection. Among these, Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS)–based assays offer a significant advantage: the ability to measure multiple analytes simultaneously with quantitative precision.
Historically, the limitations of proteomics workflows have stemmed from LC-MS measurement time and sample preparation throughput. However, recent advances in LC-MS instrumentation and workflow design have dramatically increased the number of samples that can be processed weekly. As a result, the primary bottleneck has now shifted to efficient, robust, and reliable high-throughput sample preparation.
In this Application Note, we demonstrate for the first time a completely automated high-throughput LC-MS sample preparation workflow, combining Hamilton liquid handling technology with the PreOmics iST workflow.
