Hamilton Company manufactures a variety of valves that are designed to be actuated electronically. The valve drive stem is slotted to engage a precision stepper motor. After a quick initialization the valve can be reliably position to the proper port using a variety of techniques including RS-232 and Digital TTL.
The standard ML500 valves use a rotary PTFE plug design that results in the most chemically resistant fluid path possible. Only PTFE-based materials (PTFE and Kel-F) come in contact with the fluid to be dispensed. The rotary valve eliminates inaccuracies commonly seen in less accurate check valve systems.
The Modular Valve Positioner (MVP) is a standalone valve switching device that communicates via RS-232 or Digital TTL signals. When a signal is received the device positions the Hamilton valve to the desired location using a stepper motor with an optical encoder. The device can also be operated using manual switches located on the faceplate. The device comes with a cover or without a cover for flexible mounting options.
The PSD/2 modules are highly integrated, self-contained syringe drive modules that can be used as a single unit or can be daisy chained in a system that uses up to 16 units. The PSD/2 can be fitted with a variety of valve and syringe combinations. With a choice of materials like PTFE, CTFE, FEP, UHMWPE, ceramic and borosilicate glass, a reliable turnkey system can be assembled to meet the requirements of the most demanding applications.
