With proper care and handling, the Hamilton needles will provide years of use.
What does the s mean in a 22s or 26s gauge needle? The "s" represents a smaller inner diameter for the needle and a thicker needle wall for better durability. For example, a 26 gauge needle has an outer diameter of 0.46 mm and an inner diameter of 0.26 mm while the 26s gauge needle has an outer diameter of 0.47 mm and an inner diameter of 0.13 mm. The 26s has half the inner diameter of the 26 gauge needle. The difference in the wall thickness also nearly doubled with 26s gauge having a thickness of 0.18 mm while the 26 gauge is only 0.10 mm.
I have a syringe, which needle do I need?If you already have a syringe and need a Hamilton needle, you can determine the appropriate needle if you know one of the following: 1) the glass syringe termination; 2) the glass syringe part number; or whether you are dealing with a common plastic syringe. What is Dead Volume?Dead volume is defined as the volume of solution that remains in the needle after an injection. Many methods require or would benefit from a fluid path with as little dead volume as possible. This is because the fluid being transferred is of high value and it would be desirable to limit any loss.
Hamilton Needle Point Style GuideHamilton offers a variety of different needle point designs. Needle termination selection is very important to the proper function an application. Lab needles need to perform in many different environments and terminations are available in non-coring, beveled, drilled side port and more. Click to see which version is best for your application.
Needle Length GuideNeedle length is a critical consideration for every application. Each needle hub design requires a slightly different length definition. It doesn't matter if the application is utilizing lab needles for life science injection or environmental analysis of ground water, the injection needs to hit the right target. This guide illustrates how to make the different measurements.
Needle Gauge ChartIn addition to being inert stainless steel, lab needles require proper sizing in order to function properly. The diameter of a needle is defined by its gauge. In addition to being inert stainless steel, lab needles require proper sizing in order to function properly. Hamilton company offers a wide spectrum of gauges. This index displays the internal and outer dimensions as well as the dead volume.
