Laboratory automation reduces hands-on time and human errors to maximize efficiency and accuracy of results. Preparation of next‑generation sequencing (NGS) libraries incorporates multiple steps, often including several magnetic bead DNA clean-ups. Manual DNA clean-ups are tedious, time-consuming and vulnerable to errors; especially when processing multiple samples at once. Automation in clinical laboratories is key for reducing hands-on time and results reliability. Here, the quality, coverage, and other sequencing metrics of DNA libraries were compared for DNA clean-ups processed using the Microlab PuriFY versus manual methods.
