VisiTrace Optical Trace DO Sensors

The VisiTrace mA and RS485 are designed to measure dissolved oxygen in the low ppb range in brewing applications, notably during filtration and filling. Adjacent markets are also boiler feed water in power plant. The VisiTrace offers all the advantages of Hamilton`s optical dissolved oxygen sensors: fast response time and low maintenance. Improvements compared to conventional electrochemical (amperometric) sensors include flow independence, rapid start-up with no polarization time and implified maintenance. Monitoring in low ppb ranges is essential in many applications such as brewing processes and power plants. VisiTrace mA has HART and wireless communication via Bluetooth directly from the sensor to your computer simplifies calibration, configuration, and maintenance. VisiTrace RS485 requires an Arc Wi Adapter for wireless communication.
VisiTrace can also be used in power plants, measurement of dissolved oxygen on boiler plants is essential if the power plant is to be run efficiently and cost effectively with minimum down time. Even small quantities of dissolved oxygen in boiler water will reduce the boiler life dramatically. In boilers where high chloride level exist, the effect of oxygen corrosion is increased. Therefore, the need to monitor dissolved oxygen content down to low ppb levels is even more important. VisiTrace mA has ATEX and IECEx approval.

VisiTrace Sensor Cap
The L1 Cap is optimized for trace measurements from 1 to 2000 PPB (µg/mL) and stable against active chlorine and chlorine dioxide. This cap can be used with VisiTrace mA and VisiTrace RS485.

VisiTrace Cables
Hamilton provides open ended cables that are compatible with the VisiTrace's M12-4 connector. Additionally a powered cable is available for configuration and diagnostics when the sensor is not connected to the process.

Wireless Calibration and Diagnostics
The VisiPro has integrated Bluetooth for connection to most PCs, tablets, and mobile devices. The ArcAir application streamlines sensor management and documentation.

What is the expected lifetime and when should I replace my ODO cap?
ODO cap health is process specific, with a cap quality indicator in ArcAir representing the general health of the ODO cap. ODO cap quality replacement is advised at 35%, however, some customers may replace ODO caps as part of a preventative maintenance program before reaching 35%. Click to learn more. -
Can I use a VisiFerm, VisiPro, or VisiTrace for gas phase oxygen measurements?
Yes. Optical DO sensors can be used for monitoring oxygen contents in air as well as dissolved oxygen. -
Does atmospheric pressure impact my gas phase oxygen measurement?
Yes, atmospheric pressure directly impacts the partial pressure of oxygen in the measured air and is linearly proportional to the measured oxygen content.
