Water has a higher heat capacity than many other substances which makes it an ideal raw material for power plant operations. Additionally it's available almost everywhere. Treatment of boiler feed water is critical because not properly treated water might be the source of problems. Poorly treated water might reduce efficiency in terms of heat transfer, cause corrosion, and very high costs for cleaning the system. The goal of the water treatment is to control alkalinity, prevent scaling, correct pH value, and control conductivity.
