If your labware is not available in the Microlab Prep’s labware library, do not try to use it in a protocol. Each piece of labware supported by the Prep has a unique labware definition that includes the labware’s geometry and appearance for deck scan identification. These definitions impact pipetting performance, as they include the shape and dimensions of the labware’s containers. They are also used to help with plate transfers and preventing collisions. A full list of supported labware is available to see what the most recent Prep software version supports.

You can request that the Hamilton support team create a labware definition to add to your Prep’s library. Once the labware definition has been imported, you can use your labware like any others on the Prep.

File a ticket to begin the process. Include the phrase “labware request” in the ticket’s description, along with the vendor and part number of your labware. Hamilton support will contact you with further instructions.
