Wearing latex gloves place the needle over a 3-5 mm OD cylindrical rod (glass sample vial, PTFE rod, etc.), about 5 mm from the pointed end of the needle. Holding the end of the needle over the cylindrical rod, gently bend the needle over the round rod until the desired curvature is obtained.

Repeat several times to obtain a curvature that mimics the base curve of the posterior mouse eye with the needle point curving approximately 45 degrees with respect to the straight end.

Rinse the needle thoroughly with 70% ethanol; dry with compressed air after needle modification operation is completed.
