Polilyte Plus pH-Sensor

Traditional vs. Arc vs. Memosens Sensors?
Traditional sensors provide standard mV output and rely on a separate transmitter or controller to amplify the signal and convert to an actual reading. Arc sensors provide a built-in microtransmitter that can output either 4 - 20mA or Modbus RTU digital communication. Finally Memosens sensors offer a digital signal that works with all Memosens transmitters and analyzers currently on the market. -
What is the expected lifetime of my pH sensor?
Expected pH sensor lifetime is dependent on the application. Exposure to strong chemicals, elevated temperature, fluctuating pressure, and solid build-up can all impact the sensor life. As the sensor ages, a sluggish response may become more apparent, and will require more frequent calibrations to compensate for this change. The overall health of the Arc pH sensors can be seen using the quality indicator in ArcAir software. Click to learn more about sensor lifespan and expiration in the Knowledgebase article. -
What solution should I store my pH or ORP probe in?
Hamilton recommends storing pH and ORP probes wet in either Hamilton Storage Solution (Ref 238931) or in 3M KCl solution. Click to see the pH/ ORP Sensor Storage and Regeneration Knowledgebase for more information.

Sources of pH Measurement Error
pH Sensors are electrochemical devices with limited lifespans. Changing process conditions directly impact each component within the combination electrode thus can be sources of error leading to inaccuracy and eventual death of the sensor. -
