Hamilton's single-use dissolved oxygen monitoring system is comprised of the reusable VisiFerm SU and a single-use optical dissolved oxygen sensor cap. The cap is integrated with the single-use container by the container manufacturer.
Unlike other single-use dissolved oxygen options, Hamilton's reusable sensor element enables a compact and cost-effective measurement solution without sacrificing accuracy or precision. A standard measuring loop consists of a sensor element, which is connected to the VisiFerm SU.

How Do I Purchase VisiFerm SU Sensors?
Hamilton single-use sensors are currently only available to integrators such as bag, bioreactor, and downstream skid manufacturers.
- Bioreactor, bag, and downstream skid manufacturers are encouraged to contact Hamilton to discuss integration opportunities.
- End-users at biopharmaceutical companies are encouraged to ask their single-use solution provider if Hamilton sensors are available for their installation.

Does salinity impact my DO measurement?
Yes, salinity of a solution generally has an inverse relationship to the dissolved oxygen content within the solution. Arc sensors can have the salinity value of the liquid added in to correct the measurement by using ArcAir. -
Does temperature impact my oxygen measurement?
Yes, in a closed system, gas phase temperature is directly proportional to pressure and therefore measured oxygen content. In solution, temperature is inversely proportional to dissolved oxygen content. -
Does carbon dioxide sparging impact my DO measurement?
CO2 sparging will not impact the DO measurement using an optical DO sensor. CO2 can impact traditional polarographic DO sensors over time thus more frequent electrolyte replacement may be needed.
