EasyFerm Plus pH Sensors - All
The EasyFerm Plus family of pH sensors is designed to withstand demanding applications in the pharmaceutical industry. The Phermlyte electrolyte and HP Coatramic diaphragm are specific features that when paired with the pre-pressurized reference design prevent clogging and chemical ingress from the process liquid. The Everef-F reference cartridge further ensures that the reference electrolyte remains free of silver and precipitation of proteins. The EasyFerm Plus is most commonly matched with its PHI membrane glass, due to its excellent chemical robustness and greatly reduced drift in applications where sterilization either in an autoclave or an SIP is performed frequently.

What is the expected lifetime of my pH sensor?
Expected pH sensor lifetime is dependent on the application. Exposure to strong chemicals, elevated temperature, fluctuating pressure, and solid build-up can all impact the sensor life. As the sensor ages, a sluggish response may become more apparent, and will require more frequent calibrations to compensate for this change. The overall health of the Arc pH sensors can be seen using the quality indicator in ArcAir software. Click to learn more about sensor lifespan and expiration in the Knowledgebase article. -
What solution should I store my pH or ORP probe in?
Hamilton recommends storing pH and ORP probes wet in either Hamilton Storage Solution (Ref 238931) or in 3M KCl solution. Click to see the pH/ ORP Sensor Storage and Regeneration Knowledgebase for more information. -
What is A-length and how is it measured?
A-length refers to the insertion depth of the sensor. It's generally measured from the base of the PG13.5 mounting threads but can vary with certain styles of sensors.

Password Management in ArcAir
A requirement of GMP Part 11 compliance is the ability to password protect ArcAir software and Arc sensors. This brief article explores common questions related to password management in these products. -
Warnings and Errors with Arc pH / ORP Sensors
The advanced diagnostics of Hamilton Arc pH / ORP sensors are indicated by warnings and errors. This article dives into the different types of warnings and errors as well as how they are defined. -
Care and Maintenance
The best way to maximize lifespan of process pH sensors is proper storage and cleaning. The pH sensitive gel layer that forms on the glass membrane must be kept hydrated for proper measurement and response time.
