Additional parameters, more connections and certificates

(Bonaduz, October 13, 2014) – The latest edition of the process analytics catalog from Hamilton Bonaduz AG is now available. In addition to information on the proven products including analog and digital sensors, instruments, cables, pH buffers and conductivity standards as well as transmitters, a few innovations were added as well.

These include among other things sensors for measuring the total and viable cell density. Since biological processes in particular are gaining importance in the industry, the market for this segment is growing steadily as well. Here the determination of the pH value and dissolved oxygen is indirectly linked to the cell status and growth. With its sensors for the continuous measurement of cell density, Hamilton is therefore opening a new chapter. Combined with the pH and dissolved oxygen sensors, capacitive sensors for measuring the viable cell density and the turbidity sensors for measuring the total cell density provide all relevant information about cell cultures and fermentation. This makes biological processes even more transparent going forward, for improved optimization.

Another innovation is the recently established ability to now also ingrate Arc sensors into process control systems via the Profibus-DP protocol. This technology offers the opportunity to realize the full potential of the digital sensors in Profibus environments.

With the VisiPro DO, Hamilton is also presenting an additional highlight in the sensor portfolio. The latter not only improves measuring performance and offers easy maintenance – this is also the first optical sensor for dissolved oxygen with ATEX / IECEx approval, thereby expanding its field of application to potentially explosive environments.

Thanks to the current generation of the Arc ECS (electro-chemical signal) adapters, the experts also enable the simple integration of digital pH or ORP Arc sensors into older bio-controllers or standard transmitters with the simultaneous availability of sensor information and diagnostics.

The ODO cap H2 designed for hygienic applications constitutes another innovation. It is compatible with all optical oxygen sensors, features improved resistance to chemicals and therefore has a longer service life.

Last but not least the optimized Polilyte Plus family is being presented. The best features of Polilyte Plus were improved once again and made accessible to additional applications. The extensive know-how and in-house production of pH glasses made a major contribution here.

All in all Hamilton offers a meaningful expansion of the existing portfolio, based primarily on the needs of the market. The company is also putting more effort into certification than ever before – thereby fully meeting its own standards for solutions of high quality.
