Hamilton Grant Testimonial
DATE: May 2019
Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri | Forestry Engineering
André Rech, Professor

In our lab, Reproductive Ecology of Plants, we are developing research based on functional traits in which are included volatiles profile of floral odors (gas chromatography), chemical profiles of herbivore defense compounds (high-performance liquid chromatography). The lab techniques used to collect and analyze these data are totally dependent on syringes and the Hamilton ones are the best product we already have been used. We also collect some data in the field, such as nectar volume of flowers, and small syringes are perfect to do this.

We are part of a relatively young university in Brazil, just over 10 years old, but we already have a scientific production relatively comparable to university with more than 50 years. I believe that receiving this grant would be a great incentive for the students in our department to feel deserved by science and to continue to work with such care.
