Before a new compound can be tested for efficacy, permeability, toxicity etc. it has to be solubilized in a solvent that is compatible with the analysis method.
In order to create a solution of a defined concentration we have to determine the amount of compound by weight and based on that we can calculate and add the required volume (or weight) of solvent. Through integration of a sensitive balance and use of a tube gripper and barcoded tubes we can automate the weight assessment and solvent addition.
To be able to correlate the efficacy, toxicity etc. to the concentration we have to be sure that the compound is in fact completely dissolved. Hamilton’s easySolve Check Module and Software can help detect undissolved compound, precipitate or turbidity before compound plates are created from the stock solution.
