User Directed Mode

User-directed pipetting gives the technician more flexibility while still maintaining a high degree of traceability and oversight. In this mode, the user selects a Wizard to perform a function such as pipetting, reverse pipetting, aliquoting, serial dispensing or diluting. Commonly used volumes and actions can be saved as Favorites and recalled using the scroll wheel on the hand probe.

Standard Wizards

Pipette

A single aspiration and dispense of a specified volume of fluid. Tip pre-wetting and mixing are available options.

Reverse Pipette

A single aspiration of a volume slightly higher than the specified volume of fluid followed by a dispense of the specified volume of fluid. The over-aspirated volume can be pipetted back into the original container, reserved in the tip for a subsequent fluid transfer or disposed together with the tip.

Dilution

An aspiration of a specified volume of diluent followed by the aspiration of an optional air gap and then an aspiration of a specified volume of sample. Both the sample and diluent volumes occupy the same tip and are dispensed simultaneously. Tip pre-wetting and mixing are available options.

Aliquot

A multi-dispense of identical sample volumes after a single bulk aspiration.

Serial Dispense

A multi-dispense of unique sample volumes after a single bulk aspiration.
