Reagents

Reagents are solutions that aid in the cell culture process. This category has two main types of reagents, cell disociation and washing solutions. Cell dissociation reagents are used to remove cells from the GEM substrate. Washing solutions are used prior to adding a dissociation reagent to the cell culture to remove residual medium and serum so that it does not interfere with the cell dissociation reagents.

Dissociation Agents
Cell dissociation reagents are used to remove cells from the GEM substrate. Washing solutions are used prior to adding a dissociation reagent to the cell culture to remove residual medium and serum so that it does not interfere with the cell dissociation reagents.
Washing
The washing solutions include sterile water, PBS, and DPBS. All of these solutions are calcium and magnesium free.

The cell dissociation reagents are Accutase and Accumax.  These solutions are gentler than Trypsin and do not require medium quenching.  The washing solutions are water, DPBS, and PBS.  These solutions are used to wash the cells of medium and serum prior to adding a cell dissociation reagent.
