Hamilton Company Press Release

New solution for handling labware with glossy surfaces

The STAR’s pipetting channels can be used for various tasks in addition to pipetting: The channels’ CO-RE technology has proved itself at the forceless tip pick-up and tip ejection, increasing process safety. With theCO-RE Gripper HAMILTON offers a favourably priced alternative to expensive plate grippers, making additional plate handling arms needless.

With the new CO-RE lid tool, pipetting channels can be used to remove lids of Petri-dishes. The channels pick up a little suction-cup, by aspiration a vacuum is built and the covers can be transported. The Monitored Air Displacement offers ultimate process safety at these transports: As in pipetting movements, the pressure is monitored during pick-up, transport and deposition of the lid.

Multiple CO-RE lid tools can be used at the same time, limited only by the number of available pipetting channels on the system.

The CO-RE lid tool is ideal for systems that use the STAR line’s EasyPick option, where pipetting channels are used to pick bacterial colonies from Petri-dishes, SBS format plates or Q-Trays.
