Separation and Quantitation of EDTA

Hamilton PRP-X100 anion exchange columns are ideal for the quantitation of EDTA in a wide variety of samples. This includes creams, eye drops and pharmaceuticals to list a few. Columns can also be used to determine trace levels of EDTA after cleaning/washing of equipment. The seperation is achieved without interference as the copper or iron EDTA complex in less than 10 minutes. The mobile phase is a mixture of methanol and dilute sulfuric acid that can be optimized for faster analysis (less than 3 minutes) or longer retention. PRP-X100 columns are available in three particle sizes (3, 5 and 10 um) and a variety of column lengths (50 to 250 um). Sensitive detection is achieved with UV at 254 nm.
