New TADM Lab Analyzer™ software supports Sample Chain of Custody Procedures

RENO, Nev., (March 9, 2009) -  Hamilton Robotics introduces the TADM (Total Aspiration and Dispense Monitoring) Lab Analyzer for MICROLAB® STAR and STARlet liquid handling workstations.  Made possible through a collaboration with Apartis Information Management, this new software solution enhances the usability of TADM data from Hamilton STAR workstations by displaying it in graphical, easy-to-interpret formats.  TADM Lab Analyzer retrieves and visualizes precise, real-time pressure monitoring data, enabling the user to quickly confirm accurate aspiration and dispense for each sample plate well.  The data display also clearly shows deviations from preset guard bands and delivers online warnings.  The TADM system can be programmed by the user to take specific actions in response to errors.

TADM Lab Analyzer is ideal for IVD laboratories and other regulated settings because it provides a traceable digital audit trail documenting that a sample has been transferred.  TADM data supports chain of custody procedures by enabling the user to prove the legal integrity of all samples and data.  This is especially important when samples may ultimately be introduced as evidence in a trial.  TADM also enables well-by-well post-run analysis.  TADM Lab Analyzer is applicable in any blood testing setting as well as in drug discovery target validation.

“Our TADM technology provides the only air displacement pipetting pressure monitoring available today,” comments Scott Eaton, director of Hamilton Robotics’ OEM/IVD business unit.  “Apartis’ expertise enables us to put this technology in the hands of any STAR workstation user, regardless of experience level.”
