The Society of Mineral Analysts (SMA) Annual Conference brings together analytical professionals throughout the mining world.  The SMA traces its origins back to 1987, when a handful of analytical professionals got together in northern Nevada to share ideas.

What came out of that initial meeting was a non-profit professional society serving the needs of our membership and our industries by promoting professional development through training and the exchange of practices, ideas, and innovations.
